New York, N.Y. November 13, 2014 – TargetSpot, the largest most advanced digital audio advertising platform, signs a partnership agreement with RMS, the leading digital audio ad network in Germany. These market leaders are moving to leverage their respective strengths and market position in order to drive global growth.
The partnership gives TargetSpot access to RMS’ portfolio of over 400 online stations across Germany and Europe as well as its monetization infrastructure and marketplace expertise.
RMS is able to leverage TargetSpot’s position as one of the leaders in the US digital audio space, its proprietary ad serving technology, and relationships with global brands and advertisers. Global music consumption is shifting; recording industry download revenues are in decline globally (down 2.1%) and interest in streaming is surging according to a report from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Germany represents an important global growth market for digital audio and the partnership with RMS gives TargetSpot a fast track to its global expansion plans. RMS is able to enter a more mature US market which is driving growth, advertiser adoption, and digital audio ads standardization (DAAST).
“We’re excited about our collaboration with RMS because it gives TargetSpot a strategic foothold in a key European market (Germany) as we continue to expand our global reach”, Leigh Newsome, Co-CEO TargetSpot.
Florian Ruckert, Chairman of the Executive Board of RMS, is very excited about the collaboration, “This cooperation helps us to achieve two targets: first, we will significantly expand our digital audio portfolio and strengthen our position as market leader. Our second and fundamentally more strategic target is to expand our international advertising network. We can greatly profit from the experience in the American market, because the use of audio advertising by advertisers and agencies has already been established to a much greater extent there.”
