Account Funding
This is the amount of money you elect to add to your TargetSpot Account to fund your Campaigns. The minimum amount you can add is $50.00 USD but you can add any amount up to your TargetSpot-imposed Credit Limit.
Account ID
This is a unique numeric identifier associated with each TargetSpot Account. It is useful when corresponding with TargetSpot’s Customer Support staff.
Account Manager
This is the interface that allows you to manage your TargetSpot Account, including contact details and payment information.
Advertising Deposit
This is the initial amount of money required to start advertising on TargetSpot. The minimum deposit is $50.00 USD and the maximum is $1000.00 USD.
Ad Unit
This is your actual TargetSpot ad, which can be one of four types: Audio Spot (audio ad), Video Spot (video ad), Graphic Spot (static or animated graphic banner) or a Text Spot (text banner).
Ad Unit Duration
This is the length of a given TargetSpot Ad Unit and only applies to Audio Spots and Video Spots. Currently, Audio Spots support Ad Unit Lengths of :10, :15, :30 and :60 seconds. Video Spots support lengths of up to :15 seconds.
Ad Unit Status
This is the current status of an Ad Unit added during the Campaign creation process. All Ad Units must be reviewed by TargetSpot and then reviewed and approved by its various network partners in order for your Campaign to run.
Age Skew
This is the slant towards one or more age ranges that a given Internet Radio station appeals to in its programming. For example, an Internet Radio station that has an Age Skew of 18-34 means that its programming primarily appeals to listeners between the ages of 18 and 34.
Audio Enhancer
This is an optional tool that allows you to enhance your Audio Spot ads by adding background music sound effects.
Audio Spot
This is TargetSpot's audio Ad Unit. Audio Spots can be created using pre-recorded audio files that you upload; recorded using our Record by Mic tool or professionally recorded using our Voice Talent Store. Audio Spots can include optional background music and sound effects and support an accompanying graphic image and clickable link.
Available Funds
This is a balance of much money is currently in your Account and available for use by your TargetSpot Campaigns.
Banner Campaign
This is a type of TargetSpot Campaign that allows advertisers to place Banner or Text-based ads on the media players of Internet Radio stations.
Bid Price
Also called a bid. This is the highest amount that you are willing to pay for each 1,000 Impressions generated by your TargetSpot Campaign.
Billing Address
This is the address associated with your credit card.
Budget Spread
Also known as 'spending your budget evenly'. If enabled, this feature allows you to cap the daily spending of your Campaign by spreading your Monthly (or Total Budget) over the length of the current month or the Campaign’s Flight dates.
Campaign
A TargetSpot Campaign consists of an Ad Unit, targeting information and a Bid Price. Any of these components can be changed at any time allowing you to easily tailor, refine and optimize your TargetSpot Campaigns to achieve distinct advertising goals.
Campaign Cost Estimate Summary
This is a summary of your Campaigns potential cost in dollars based on your current Bid Price and projected Impression levels.
Campaign Exposure Frequency
This is the average number of times a unique listener was exposed to your TargetSpot Campaign over given time period. Campaigns with higher frequency settings will generate more Impressions and likely reach more listeners than Campaigns with lower frequency settings. Currently, TargetSpot allows you to set the frequency of your Campaigns to once every 15 minutes, once per hour or once per day.
Campaign Flighting
This allows you to schedule your TargetSpot Campaigns to run at some point in the future or for a selected period of time (e.g., from 12/01/2008 until 12/23/2008).
Campaign Manager
This is the interface that allows you to create, edit, view and manage your TargetSpot Campaigns.
Campaign Status
This is the current condition of a TargetSpot Campaign.
Click
A click (sometimes called a click through) occurs when an Internet Radio listener is exposed to your ad and clicks on your ad within a TargetSpot-enabled media player, leading them to your website.
Copied Campaign
This is a duplicate of an existing Campaign that can be used as a template for other Campaigns. Using Copied Campaigns can save you time when compared to creating a new Campaign from scratch.
CTR
CTR or Click through rate is the number of clicks your ad receives divided by the number of times your ad is exposed to an Internet Radio listener.
CPM
CPM stands for cost-per-thousand Impressions. In a CPM pricing model (as used by TargetSpot), you pay for every 1,000 Impressions your ad receives.
Credit Limit
This is the maximum amount you can add to your TargetSpot Account at the current time. All TargetSpot advertisers start out with a $1000.00 USD Credit Limit regardless of their creditworthiness. After one successful desposit of funds, this limit is raised to the maximum amount of credit supported by the credit card associated with the Account.
Crop Audio
This is a special feature that allows you to trim an uploaded audio file to the proper length.
Custom Visual
This is the Visual that you upload using any JPEG or PNG image and select SWF (Flash) animations.
Customize Report
TargetSpot allows you to customize any Report you may generate, including adjusting time periods, date ranges and setting up various filters on the data that you wish to output.
Daily Avails
This is an estimate of how many Impressions your TargetSpot Campaign is likely to generate on a daily basis based on your Targeting Budget, Campaign Exposure Frequency and Bid Price.
Dashboard
This is your personalized TargetSpot 'home page'. It provides shortcuts to the most popular functions of TargetSpot.
Editorial Policy
This is TargetSpot’s official policy regarding ads it deems acceptable to run on the various stations within its network. It is available from the footer (bottom) of every page in the TargetSpot application.
Email Notification
This is an email-based notification that is sent to you when certain events related to your TargetSpot advertising occur. For example, you can receive Email Notifications for changes in your Campaign Status. Email Notifications can be selectively turned on and off.
Funds Used
This is the amount of money used by a given TargetSpot Campaign to pay for advertising. Fund usage is tracked on a daily, monthly and total basis so you can track the overall as well as historic spending of your Campaigns.
Gender Skew
This is the slant towards a particular gender that a given Internet Radio station appeals to in its programming. For example, an Internet Radio station that has a Gender Skew of Female has programming that appeals to more women than men.
Graphic Spot
This is TargetSpot's banner Ad Unit. Graphic Spots can be created using graphic files you upload and a clickable link.
Incremental Account Funding
This option allows you to automatically top off your Account Balance if it falls below a certain amount, which allows you to keep your Campaigns running without requiring you to re-enter your Payment Information. You can select the threshold at which Incremental Account Funding is activated as well as the dollar amounts to top off your Account Balance with.
Impression
An Impression is a single play or "exposure" of a TargetSpot Campaign to an Internet Radio listener. Every time a targeted listener hears your Campaign, it counts as one Impression.
Initial Deposit
This is the minimum dollar amount required to advertising on TargetSpot when creating your Account. Currently, TargetSpot's Initial Deposit is $50.00 USD but you can enter up to $1000.00 USD if you wish.
In-Stream Campaign
This is a type of TargetSpot Campaign that allows advertisers to place audio ads inside streaming content. In-Stream Campaigns are :10, :15, :30 and even :60 seconds long.
Internet Radio
Internet radio is an audio broadcasting service transmitted via the Internet. Internet radio "stations" are usually accessible from anywhere in the world — for example, to listen to an Australian station from Europe or America and vice-versa. This makes it a popular service for expatriates and for listeners with interests not adequately served by local radio stations (such as progressive rock, classical music, 24-hour stand up comedy, and others). Some Internet radio services offer news, sports, talkback, and various genres of music — everything that is on the radio station being simulcast over the Internet.
Invoice
This is a summary of a given TargetSpot payment transaction. Invoices are generated each time you add funds to your Account and each time you pay for a specialty service, such as Professional Voice Talent.
Monthly Avails
This is an estimate of how many Impressions your TargetSpot Campaign is likely to generate on a monthly basis based on your Targeting Budget, Campaign Exposure Frequency and Bid Price.
Monthly Budget
This is a monthly spending limit for your TargetSpot Campaign. It allows you to restrict how much money your TargetSpot Campaign spends on advertising on a monthly basis. Active Campaigns will pause once they reach a Monthly Budget (if set) and automatically restart the next month.
Paid Account
This is a TargetSpot Account that allows advertisers to run Internet Radio advertising Campaigns on the TargetSpot network.
Payment Information
You must supply valid Payment Information - namely a valid credit card in order to advertise on TargetSpot. TargetSpot currently accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards.
Payment Settings
This area allows you to enter or update the Payment Information associated with your TargetSpot Account.
Pre-Roll Campaign
This is a type of TargetSpot Campaign that allows advertisers to place :15 second long video ads on the media players of specific Internet Radio stations. These ads are automatically shown each time a given listener launches a TargetSpot-enabled media player.
Professional Voice Talent
This is a special service offering that allows you to order custom audio recordings made by our roster of professional voice over artists accessed through the 'Voice Talent Store' on the Dashboard screen. Professional Voice Talent recordings are an additional cost and are priced according to their length.
Programming Categories
This is the type of programming offered by one or more Internet Radio stations in TargetSpot's advertising network. Examples of station programming might include Sports/Talk, News or Alternative Rock music.
Promo Code
This is a special coupon code issued to both new and existing TargetSpot advertisers at various times. When entered, it allows you to redeem everything from free services to free advertising credit.
Record by Mic
This is a special Audio Spot creation tool that enables you to record your audio messages using an ordinary microphone directly into your web browser.
Refund Policy
This is TargetSpot’s official policy regarding getting your money back. It is available from the footer (bottom) of every page in the TargetSpot application.
Report Manager
This is the interface that allows you to create, edit, view and manage your TargetSpot Reports.
Report Types
TargetSpot supports several types of reports. These include both advertising performance reports and activity-relegated reports.
Run of Network
This term refers to what occurs if your Campaign targets Internet Radio listeners across all of the stations in TargetSpot’s network.
Station Location
This is the media market (geographic location) of a given Internet Radio station in TargetSpot's advertising network. Unlike traditional Radio, there is not a direct relationship between listeners and an Internet Radio station's location. It's entirely possible for an Internet Radio station located in San Francisco to be listened to by someone located in Boston and vice-versa. However, it stands to reason that most listeners will listen to Internet Radio stations that are located within their geographical area.
Targeting
This is your specific Internet Radio station and listener targeting selections. Your Targeting can be as broad or as granular as you want.
Text Spot
This is TargetSpot's text-only Ad Unit. Text Spots can be created using a special visually oriented tool and support a clickable link.
Total Campaign Budget
This is the total spending limit for your TargetSpot Campaign. It allows you to restrict how much money your TargetSpot Campaign spends for the duration of its life. Active Campaigns will stop once they reach a Total Campaign Budget.
Total Funds Used
This is the total amount of money that has been spent on TargetSpot advertising to date.
Trial Account
This is a TargetSpot Account that allows advertisers to explore and get comfortable with the system but cannot run Internet Radio advertising Campaigns on the TargetSpot network.
Video Spot
This is TargetSpot's video Ad Unit. Video Spots can be created using either created or pre-recorded video files you upload and support a clickable link.
Visual
This is an image that can be associated with an Audio Spot ad. Examples of Visuals may include product photos, company logos and similar element. Visuals can either be uploaded or selected from a small collection of stock elements that TargetSpot provides.
Voice Talent Store
This area allows you to have a professional voice over artist record your audio ad for a modest, additional fee. These recordings can then be uploaded into TargetSpot and used in any of your Campaigns.
